Know About Supplier Risk Before It Becomes a Supply Disruption

Mercata continuously monitors your approved supplier base for certification lapses, ownership changes, financial stress signals, sanctions list additions, and geographic risk — sending alerts to your team before problems reach your production line.

Risk Signals

Six supplier risk signals Mercata monitors automatically

Certification Expiry

30-day and 7-day advance warnings when any supplier's ISO, AS9100, IATF, NADCAP, or FDA registration approaches expiry. Instant alert if a certificate is suspended or revoked.

Financial Stress Signals

Alerts on material changes in public financial filings, new UCC liens, court judgments, or significant credit downgrades that may indicate operational or financial difficulty.

Ownership Changes

Notifications when a supplier's parent company, ultimate beneficial owner, or legal structure changes — critical for ITAR compliance and supply chain continuity risk assessment.

FAQ

Supplier risk monitoring FAQ

How does Mercata detect supplier financial distress?
Mercata monitors public financial signals including SEC and Companies House filings for material adverse events, UCC-1 lien filings (U.S.), court judgment records, and credit bureau signals. When a monitored supplier shows a significant negative change in any of these signals, Mercata generates an alert with the specific trigger and evidence link for your team to review.
Which suppliers can I monitor with Mercata?
Any supplier in Mercata's database of 248,000+ companies can be added to your monitored supplier list. You can import your existing approved supplier list (from SAP Ariba, Coupa, or a CSV export), and Mercata will match each supplier to its database record and begin monitoring automatically. Alerts are delivered by email or via webhook to your internal systems.
Does Mercata check OFAC and sanctions lists?
Yes. Mercata screens monitored suppliers against OFAC SDN (Specially Designated Nationals) list, EU sanctions lists, UN Security Council sanctions, and UK HMT sanctions — updated in real time as lists change. Any supplier match or newly added entity triggers an immediate alert.
